In the Buddhist perspective, forbearance is to be “unmoved by the Eight Winds.” The Eight Winds are praise, ridicule, suffering, happiness, benefits, loss, disgrace, and honor. Buddhism teaches us to remain unperturbed whether we are faced with favorable conditions, adversities, disgrace or flattery.
