Giving doesn't necessarily involve money. Dedicating physical or mental effort, or even just expressing praise when you see somebody doing a good deed are also ways to give.

If you practice giving, when the effects of your generosity come, riches will flow to you like water, even if you do not seek it. Cultivating good causes naturally yields good effects, whether you seek them or not.

Everything is created by the mind. Secular beings are made from our secular attachments. Buddhas are made from the mind of compassion. Through compassion, they cultivate the Four All-Embracing Virtues and the Six Paramitas.

The Buddhadharma is superior knowledge; therefore, we must hold on to it with unwavering courage. We must not allow others to slander Buddhism and speak of unorthodox teachings, nor shall we allow their incorrect ideologies to influence others. The truth is not alloyed with emotion; otherwise it would not be the truth. The Buddhadharma is the truth as it is the only dharma that allows all beings to attain enlightenment. This is something secular dharma cannot do.

Why are Buddhas, “world-honored ones,” worthy of our respect? It is because their blessings and wisdom are complete and perfect. These “twofold adornments” are not accomplished for their own enjoyment, but rather for the sake of all sentient beings. That is why they are honored by all.
