As lay practitioners with Bodhi resolve, we must seek the Buddha’s guidance in striving for awakening, while liberating living beings and creating affinity with them. We do this to cultivate the Way without hindrances. By benefiting others, we also benefit ourselves. Hence, realizing Buddhahood is inextricably linked with helping other sentient beings.
