To become a Buddha, we need to cultivate the Four All-Embracing Virtues and Six Paramitas. To be reborn as a human, we need to uphold the Five Precepts. To be born in the heavenly realms, we also need to follow and cultivate the Path of Three Virtuous Thoughts. We will fall into the Three Lower Realms if we break the precepts as a human.
