We chant the name of Amitabha Buddha to become Amitabha Buddha—the mind is Buddha. We chant the name of Guan Yin Bodhisattva to become Guan Yin Bodhisattva—our mind is Guan Yin. This is not being arrogant or unrealistic. Our original, inherent nature is the same as that of the Buddhas. Do not give up on this nature; it is too precious to surrender.
