Why is that?
Each and every one of Amitabha Buddha’s Forty-eight Great Vows was made for all sentient beings. Because making these great vows planted an extraordinary cause, their effect in those sentient beings who receive them are also extraordinarily magnificent. That is why it is said that Amitabha Buddha is first among all Buddhas of the Three Periods.
