If you want to know about Guan Yin Bodhisattva, you need to recite the three Guan Yin Sutras
1. Universal Gateway Chapter of The Lotus Sutra
Introduces the virtuous accomplishments of how Guan Yin Bodhisattva guides and transforms sentient beings.
2. Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Chapter on Perfect Penetration of Hearing
Explains how Guan Yin Bodhisattva accomplished the Way through cultivation of causes
3. Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Chapter in The Flower Adornment Sutra
Explains Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s powerful meritorious virtues, boundless compassion, and the effects of this compassion
Ceremony of Ten Offerings
– Offering Ceremony: The temple’s Sangha members will respectfully offer the following items before the Buddha on behalf of the benefactors.
– Declaration Ritual: The names of the benefactors will be announced during the service.
6:30 PM 11/2 Offering of Incense 11/3 Offering of Flowers 11/4 Offering of Lamps 11/5 Offering of Jewelry 11/5 Offering of Dharma Treasures
9:30 PM 11/7 Offering of Fruit 11/8 Offering of Tea, Clothing, Food and Perfume
Memorial plaques and longevity plaques can be set up during the service.
The ceremony of Ten Offerings will be held before the Buddha.
