    How do we know about Amitabha Buddha and the Western Pure Land located hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddha Lands away from here? Shakyamuni Buddha told us. Shakyamuni Buddha’s teachings help us realize the boundless suffering of this world and the need to practice Buddhism. Shakyamuni Buddha teaches us to sincerely chant the holy name of Amitabha Buddha and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land, leaving behind this world of affliction. When we are reborn in a lotus flower in the Western Pure Land, we will be free from all illnesses. Through self-cultivation, we will be able to perfect our blessings, wisdom, and spiritual powers, and benefit sentient beings extensively. In this world, it is difficult to self-cultivate and even more difficult to guide others. So, if we want to accomplish our own cultivation as well as guide others, we have to do as Shakyamuni Buddha taught: chant the Buddha’s name well and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
