ㆍOn September 19, starting at 9:00AM, the final Dedication of Merits will be held during the Ullambana Offering Ceremony
ㆍWe will recite the Ullambana Sutra, Sutra in Praise of the Merits of the Sangha, and hold a Grand Offering before the Buddhas Ceremony
ㆍWe will dedicate the merits to the transcendence of our deceased parents, including those from previous lives, and the everlasting health of our living parents
ㆍWe will also dedicate the merits to the prompt elimination of the pandemic. May people’s minds be at ease, and the world be at peace.

lf Bhikshus, Bhikshunis, kings, princes, ministers, officials, or any citizens wish to practice filial compassion, they should make meal offerings of a hundred flavors on behalf of their parents in this life, and parents of their previous seven lives, to the Sangha of the Ten Directions on the last day of the Summer Retreat, also known as the Buddha’s Joyful Day (the 15th day of the seventh lunar month). They should pray that their living parents enjoy a long life free of illness and suffering, and their deceased parents be free from the realm of hungry ghosts, and enjoy endless blessings in the human and heavenly realms. Buddhist disciples who wish to practice filial piety should be mindful of their parents in every moment, and make offerings to their parents of their past seven lives. Every year on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, they should be compassionately mindful of their parents in this life and their past seven lives, and make offerings to the Buddha and Sangha on their behalf, as a way of repaying their love and kindness in raising them. All Buddhist disciples should practice accordingly.
