Descriptions:In adherence to the Buddha’s bequeathed teachings, the practice at Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) is focused on the Pure Land tradition, as well as observance of and instruction on the precepts as part of its efforts in purification of the mind and fostering a safe and harmonious society. In continuing to turn the wheel of Dharma and pray for the peace and happiness of all sentient beings, the temple will be hosting a Three Refuges, Five Precepts and Lay Bodhisattva Precepts Transmission Ceremony. The merits of this event will be dedicated toward the timely completion of the temple’s construction and all sentient beings of the Dharma Realm together realizing Buddhahood. We respectfully invite everyone to participate in this rare and special Dharma event.
The precepts are the foundation of unsurpassed Bodhi. Receiving and upholding the pure precepts is the gateway to embarking on the path of Buddhist practice. Making the Bodhi resolve is the most significant step in realizing Buddhahood.
