        Charitable Donation to the Burnaby Hospital

        On May 2, 2024, representatives from the Lingyen Mountain Temple Community Based Organization of Burnaby, donated $2,000 to the Burnaby Hospital, contributing to the hospital’s rebuilding project. Jin Xi, the Office Manager, and Trevor Lau, the Marketing and Communication Manager, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the temple.

        Burnaby Hospital has not undergone significant upgrades for over fifty years. Currently, the hospital is in a critical transition period, aiming to provide more comprehensive and high-quality medical services to the rapidly growing community. The first phase of the rebuilding project is scheduled for completion in 2025. It will expand the hospital’s emergency room and surgical services, establish a new six-story ward, a new department for mental health and substance use, and a state-of-the-art obstetrics department. The goal is to enhance patient care in the near future, benefiting more individuals in need.

        Charitable Donation to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation

        On April 12, 2024, the representatives from Lingyen Mountain Temple Community Based Organization of Vancouver donated CAD 2,000 to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, a non-profit organization located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

        The BC Children’s Hospital is the only public hospital in British Columbia dedicated exclusively to the care of children. The funds donated will be used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment and for research into pediatric diseases. The foundation’s staff is deeply grateful for the charitable donation from Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) and appreciates the temple’s contribution to the treatment of sick children and the prevention of pediatric diseases.

        Charitable Donation to to Kidsport Tri-Cities

        On April 4, 2024, representatives from Lingyen Mountain Temple Community Based Organization of Coquitlam, made a noble gesture by donating $2,000 CAD to Kidsport Tri-Cities, a non-profit organization located in Coquitlam. Chris Wilson, the head of Kidsport Tri-Cities, expressed sincere gratitude to Lingyen Mountain Temple for their generosity. Kidsport Tri-Cities is a branch of the Canadian non-profit organization Kidsport, operating specifically in the Tri-Cities area. In Canada, one in every three children faces economic barriers preventing them from participating in sports. Kidsport’s mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to engage in sports. This donation will provide $500 CAD each to four children from financially challenged families, enabling them to register for sports activities and purchase necessary sports equipment.

          The temple’s Sangha assembly will also lead the participants in sutra recitation and repentance services.
