Vancouver Organization Donates to UBC Food Bank to Support Students

The Vancouver Community Based Organization of Lingyen Mountain Temple Canada visited the UBC AMS Food Bank, donating supplies on behalf of Lingyen Mountain Temple to the UBC Food Bank on July 17, 2026.
The donation aims to ease the burdens of daily life for students in need, so that amid their busy academic journeys, they may also feel the care and support of the community.

Surrey Dharma Support Chapter Donates to Sources Food Bank

On July, 9, 2026, as the year drew to a close, the Surrey Community Based Organization representing the Temple, visited Sources Food Bank to donate food and extend care to families in need within the community. Through concrete action in support of the food bank, the volunteers helped ease the burden of daily living and carried warmth and care to every corner of the community.

This act of kindness not only responds to an immediate need, but also embodies the Buddhist spirit of compassion and benefiting all sentient beings, letting loving-kindness flow unceasingly even through the cold of winter. May this good intention become warmth and strength, and may all beings enjoy peace of body and mind, and well-being.

Richmond Dharma Support Chapter Makes Charity Donation to Richmond School District

On July 6, 2026, on behalf of Lingyen Mountain Temple, representatives of the Richmond Community Based Organization visited the Richmond School District to make a charitable donation—a concrete act of giving back to the community, helping children in need receive nourishing food so that every child can learn with peace of mind and grow up healthy.

The Buddhadharma teaches us “loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and generosity”; nurturing the growth of the next generation is compassion put into practice through caring for the community. May this goodwill continue to spread from person to person, bringing greater warmth and hope to the community.

Richmond Dharma Support Chapter Supports Richmond Hospital

The late Venerable Master Miao Lien once said: “Lingyen Mountain Temple is a great hospital that heals every illness.” What the Temple treats are the afflictions of the mind — greed, anger, and ignorance; what worldly hospitals treat are afflictions of the body — safeguarding the lives of sentient beings.

The Temple heals the mind; the hospital heals the body. The Richmond Community Based Organization visited Richmond Hospital Foundation to make a charitable donation. The funds will go toward the hospital’s expansion project, enhancing its medical facilities and capacity for care. Supporting the building of medical infrastructure is a concrete expression of the spirit of compassion within society. May this act of goodness give back to society and dedicate merit toward the peace and happiness of all beings, and may more families find reassurance and hope.

Coquitlam Group Donates Fresh Apples to Tri Cities Food Bank

At the very start of the new year, on the afternoon of January 2, 2026, a group of five members from the Coquitlam and surrounding area Community Based Organization of Lingyen Mountain Temple Canada visited the Tri-Cities Food Bank to make a charitable donation. In response to the food bank’s need for fresh produce, the donation consisted of 45 boxes of apples, 40 pounds each, totaling 1,800 pounds.

Bringing Warmth and Compassion to Burnaby Hospital

On December 11, the Burnaby Community Based Organization, representing the Temple, made a donation to Burnaby Hospital and Community Foundation. Burnaby Hospital is currently undergoing major redevelopment, and its Jim Pattison Centre for surgical care is being expanded and upgraded at the same time. More modern operating rooms will be added, with phased openings expected to begin in 2026, bringing faster, more complete, and more comfortable medical care to the community.

During this period of hospital renewal and expansion, we hope to do our part—to walk alongside the community and send goodwill outward, so that more people may benefit. We also wish well-being to everyone giving so much of themselves within the hospital—the patients, their families, and the medical staff who work so hard to safeguard life.
